Households were left without water this morning because of a power failure.
People in Loose, Maidstone, woke to low pressure or no supplies at all.
South East Water said the issue was due to a fault at a booster station in the village. An engineer was on site to investigate by 7.10am.
In a statement from the service provider, it said: “We apologise to customers for any inconvenience that this may be causing and we will update this message with more detailed information as soon as it becomes available.”
Water was seen bubbling out of a hole in the ground in College Road, outside the former Archbishops Courtney Primary School, at about 7.30am.
Kent Highways said a lane was closed for a short time while workers attended.
It is not known if it is linked to the Loose water loss.
