Today is the last day people can pledge fundraising challenges to support a charity's Go The Distance campaign, the scheme which saw a hospital trust chief executive raise more than £10,000.
Miles Scott from Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS trust (MTW) pounded the streets for more than 28 miles starting from Crowborough Birthing Centre before crossing the finishing line at Maidstone Hospital.
He completed the journey earlier this month in just under four hours stopping at Tunbridge Wells Hospital and the trust's health records site in Paddock Wood along the way.
Mr Scott says the money will go towards his 'truly amazing' staff through welfare initiatives to support those who went above and beyond through Covid-19.
He said: “It really was a fantastic day and the support at each of our sites from colleagues across the trust made it such a special event.
“Every penny that we’ve raised will go towards improving facilities for our teams at MTW, helping to go a small way towards thanking them for all of the truly amazing work they have done and are still doing to support our patients during the coronavirus pandemic.
“I would just like to say thank you to everyone for their support, not only in helping us reach our fundraising target but also for everything they have done to show their appreciation in the last five months.”
Helping him stay motivated, Mr Scott was joined by some of his colleagues who ran and cycled alongside him.
After a quick hydration stop and a well earned shower, the dedicated chief executive was back at his desk for a meeting with the senior managers the same day.
Backed by double Olympic Gold Champion, Dame Kelly Holmes, it encourages people to walk, run or cycle to raise money for the charity.
Other teams across MTW have also taken part in their own challenges including IT colleagues who ran 10km from Maidstone Hospital to Magnitude House in Aylesford, raising £1,500.
