Electrical fire sparks evacuation at Maidstone Hospital

Patients had to be evacuated from Maidstone Hospital this morning amid a fire.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said a small blaze broke out in an electrical area of the Hermitage Lane site.
A spokesman said it happened in an outpatient area at around 9.30am.
Two outpatient areas had to be evacuated for around 10 minutes as a precaution while the fire was dealt with.
A witness reported hearing a fire alarm sounding from the hospital.
