Maidstone motorists can expect even more traffic woes on one of the town’s most infamous roads.
Temporary traffic lights along Hermitage Lane, opposite the entrance to Gallaghers’ Quarry, were due to be removed on June 22.
However, due to the Croudace developments the lights will remain in place for a further two weeks and should be gone by July 13.
Hermitage Lane has a long history of traffic horrors following the installation of the retail park with McDonalds and new homes being built close to Barming Heath.
The flow of traffic is restricted to just one lane which has caused problems for emergency service vehicles travelling in the opposite direction to oncoming traffic while on the way to Maidstone Hospital.
