A British supermodel known for her stunning looks during the height of the 90s has been laid to rest in Kent.
Georgina Cooper, who grew up in South London but moved to the county, was on holiday on the island of Kos when she died last month.
The supermodel’s funeral service was held today during a packed ceremony at Vinters Park Crematorium in Maidstone where her husband led tributes.
It is understood the 46-year-old had settled down in Bearsted, near Maidstone, with her family and husband Nigel, and worked in the village.
The pair married earlier this year, with the reception held at the Fox and Goose in Weavering. They later had their honeymoon in Kos.
The mum-of-one is understood to have been staying at a hotel on the island when she was taken unwell on October 21 and conveyed to a nearby hospital.
It was reported she was then airlifted to a facility in Heraklion, on the island of Crete, where she died five days later in intensive care.
Her cause of death was reported as cirrhosis of the liver and internal bleeding after her organs failed.
The Mail reported her husband paid tribute to the “love of my life” at the service attended by family and close friends.
The couple wed in May this year at the Fox and Goose pub in Bearsted, where she was working as a barmaid.
Leading tributes today, Nigel said: “I loved you from the day I first met you. And I will never stop loving you.
Mrs Cooper's brothers, Shane and Paul Donnelly, reportedly read poems honouring their “little sister”, describing her as a “princess without a tiara”.
Her oldest sibling Paul revealed despite his sister’s stardom, she never forgot she came from “a two-bedroom flat in Charlton, South East London”.
After her death, dozens of tributes flooded in from people within the fashion industry.
Jade Parfitt, a British model and presenter, said: “Devastated to share the news of George’s passing. One of the funniest and naughtiest, never mind most beautiful friends, we all wanted to hang out with George backstage.
“Sending so much love to her son, family and friends. Gone too soon.”
In his own personal message on Instagram, former agent Dean Goodman shared pictures of Georgina in her heyday and says he is “absolutely devastated”.
He added: “I'm in total shock and talked to her not long ago to meet up after she just got married.
“She was the original gap-toothed girl!
“I will miss her immensely, rip in peace, Georgie girl, I will never forget you and always love you, see you on the other side.”
Georgina first got into modelling at age 13, when her mum entered her in the Elite Look of The Year contest in 1992 and she came third.
After appearing in a Bon Jovi music video at age 15, she shot to fame in the 1990s, featuring on runway shows and appearing on iconic magazine covers.
