Is Week Street, Maidstone, Kent's 'chugger' hotspot?

If you've ever visited Maidstone there's a good chance you'll know what a 'chugger' is.

The fundraisers are commonplace in the town and are an almost permanent fixture in Week Street.

Chugger, or charity mugger, is a colloquial term coined to describe the legions of workers employed by big organisations whose job is to convince members of the public to donate on a monthly or weekly basis.

But while their intentions are good, the sheer number of them accosting people in town centres is getting too much for some people, with the below man taking matters a step too far.

Some people have even reported being stopped while on the phone, as they attempt to run the charity gauntlet.

Reports today suggest as many as seven different charities and organisations are currently operating in Week Street.
