An idyllic popular tea room at the heart of a village has reopened under new owners.
Ozlem and Ali Kanik have taken over as the third set of owners of The Bow Window in Lenham since the business was established in 2016 and Ozlem says the venture is a dream come true for her.
The cafe and tea room located in The Square offers breakfasts, light lunches, afternoon tea and home-made cakes and coffees.
Ozlem said: "We have run restaurants before - we currently have the Kaniklar Mangal Turkish restaurant in Week Street in Maidstone, but it was always my dream to have a tea room."
The couple, who live not far away in Bearsted, said: "It's a lovely village with some lovely people, who we are enjoying getting to know.
"Fortunately the business already had a very high reputation under its previous owners and we are aiming to continue that.
"Our menu is simple and our food is cooked fresh daily using locally sourced produce whenever we can, but perhaps we will be adding a few tastes from Turkey as well."
The full menu can be found on their website.
Breakfast is served every day from 9am until 11.30am and lunch from then onwards. The business closes at 4pm during the winter, but will have extended opening hours in the summer months.
The business is fully licensed so customers can enjoy a glass of wine, beer or cider with their meal.
Patrons can chose to sit in the Soho room, the Snug, or on warm days in the garden.
Gluten free and vegan dishes are available and walkers with dogs are welcome.
Ozlem said: "We are small and family run and very thankful for each and every one of our lovely customers."
The entrepreneurial couple also own Cemcan Property, a property management company letting flats in the heart of Maidstone town centre.
