Jail term extended for absconder who handed self in

A convict who handed herself in after absconding from a Maidstone prison has had her sentence extended.
Victoria Hayes-Sparkes failed to return while on temporary release from HMP East Sutton Park near Maidstone on Wednesday, February 21.
She was listed as one Kent Police's Most Wanted and handed herself in at a London police station on March 5.
The 23-year-old has since appeared before Medway Magistrates Court, where she pleaded guilty to being unlawfully at large.
She will now serve an additional six months behind bars.
