Kent MPs have sent best wishes to Boris Johnson after the PM was hospitalised tonight suffering from coronavirus.

The Prime Minister was taken to hospital 'as a precaution' after continuing to suffer symptoms, including a high temperature, Downing Street said.

A statement said he was having 'routine tests' ten days after testing positive for the virus. Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab will replace the PM as chair of tomorrow morning's coronavirus meeting.

Tunbridge Wells MP Greg Clark said: "Good wishes to BorisJohnson and thanks to those taking care of him and other patients tonight."

Former Dover MP Charlie Elphicke added: "Wishing BorisJohnson a swift and full recovery - get well soon!"

Tonbridge and Malling MP Tom Tugendhat tweeted: "Today is Palm Sunday, the start of Holy Week. My prayers are with the Prime Minister @BorisJohnson and all those in hospital, patients, staff, everyone who is affected by this virus."

News of the Prime Minister's hospitalisation came shortly after the Queen had made a rare televised address to the nation.

Meanwhile, Scotland's Chief Medical Officer Catherine Calderwood has resigned after being warned by police over a visit to her second home which broke her own social distancing guidelines.
