There's no sign of Britain's oldest cleaner hanging up her Marigolds anytime soon.

Marjorie Rose, 94, is a well known face in Maidstone, having worked as a cleaner at The Mall shopping centre for more than 30 years.

Born in Cornwall in 1923, Marge moved to Kent when she married her husband, Bill.

During the Second World War she worked as a fruit picker, sending healthy treats to the Army, and also spent 40 years working for Alan Firmin picking fruit and seeds from the orchards.

Suzie Brindle, marketing manager at The Mall in King Street, Maidstone, added: "Marge is a fantastic member of the team and never fails to amaze us with her zest for life."
