The much-anticipated opening date of a new KFC restaurant has been revealed.

The popular fast-food chain will open its doors to chicken lovers at The Mall shopping centre in Maidstone on Wednesday, November 21, and will be located opposite McDonald's on the bus station level.

To accommodate for the new restaurant, the dining area has undergone a small reconfiguration which will allow for more seating space and more food outlets.

It comes after plans emerged this week to create a food court within the shopping centre, with works scheduled to start in January.

Suzie Brindle, marketing manager at The Mall, said: “We’re so excited to see KFC open. We’ve worked closely with their team to ensure everything has been running smoothly up until now, and to finally welcome their staff is a great achievement.

"Plus, this opening marks the start of a new chapter for the Mall, with our new food court set to provide even more choice for our customers.”

KFC is the latest addition to the Mall Maidstone, following Gifted, MenKind, Muffin Break and Krispy Kreme recently opening in the centre.

It is the fast food giant's second store to open in the County Town, alongside the branch in Week Street.
