A landmark restaurant has closed for a major refurb.
The Harvester in Sandling Lane by the Running Horse Roundabout in Maidstone is set to reopen next month.
A large amount of scaffolding has been placed around the eatery.
Harvester says it is undergoing “a fresh new look” and is set to welcome customers back on Wednesday, December 11.
Bookings can be made for this date onwards.
The chain, owned by Mitchells and Butlers, which has a portfolio of brands such as Miller and Carter and Toby Carvery, serves grills, rotisserie chicken and an unlimited salad bar.
The next closest branch is in Rochester Road, Gravesend.
The Maidstone Harvester is right next to the Running Horse Roundabout at Junction 6 of the M20, where it meets the A229.
Earlier this year, Kent County Council invested £650,000 to improve the junction.
The work, which was completed in spring, saw the instillation of a “turbo roundabout” to ease congestion.
More about the idea, that originated in The Netherlands, can be found here.
The changes received a mixed reactions from drivers who shared their thoughts with KentOnline.
Some said they found it had been a waste of money while others believed it had successfully reduced queues around the roundabout.
