A car trying to exit Shernolds in North Loose finds it impossible to join Boughton Lane because of traffic queuing for the traffic lights at The Swan junction.

This photograph was one of many taken by Brian Clark, the County Councillor for the area, who is opposing a planning application for 220 new homes on the playing fields of New Line Learning Academy in Boughton Lane.

Cllr Clark (Lib Dem) said: “As residents park on the side heading to Loose Road, passing traffic moves over and cars heading into Boughton Lane are often forced to mount the kerb.

“Articulated lorries going to and from the fruit packing plant further along Boughton Lane can only exit from the Loose Road junction as the lane gets narrower further on and there is a weight restriction. So the potential for an impasse in the lane going forward is very real.

“This photo was taken on just a typical day showing traffic in the lane now, without the traffic from 220 extra homes added.”
