Maidstone: Lane closure on A249 near Detling causes traffic problems
15:50, 05 July 2016
The left lane of the A249 southbound at Detling Hill is closed due to a manhole cover that is in a dangerous position.
The lane was closed off on Tuesday afternoon and remained closed on Wednesday.
Both lanes of the carriageway will be closed between junction 5 of the M2 for Maidstone and junction 7 of the M20 for Detling from 10pm-5am on Wednesday, July 6.
Kent County Council Highways have tweeted telling drivers to expect delays as repairs are made to the road.
The raised manhole covers were said to be in a dangerous position and are causing queues towards junction 7 of the M20.
