It's only two months till Christmas...

And this December, Cobtree Manor Park in Aylesford will host its first "illumination trail."

The company behind the venture, Rainham-based Glow Arts, promises a "magical after-dark experience for young and old."

The woodland trail will involve thousands of twinkling fairy lights, art installations and projections.

Street performers will guide visitors through the Fairy Village and Wonderland Walkway, with a chance to stop at a food market along the way to pick up festive treats.

The firm plans two special "sensory evenings" specifically for families who need a calmer experience, allowing them to enjoy all the magical attractions, but with fewer people and a quieter, less stimulating environment.

They will be on Tuesdays, December 21 and 29, at 4pm.

The trail is designed by Lisa Carpendale, who said: "It's really important to me that this event is as accessible as possible.

"My team and I have worked really hard to create a spectacular experience that feels cosy and intimate, rather than overwhelming.

"lt's also why, as well as the sensory evenings, we're planning a recce by a wheelchair-user, so we can give accurate feedback to people with mobility needs.

"We could all do with some extra festive cheer this year and our event will give people an affordable and wonderful night out under the stars."

The trail will be open from December 15 to December 31, with tickets priced at £9 per child, £14 per adult, with a family ticket, two adults and two children, at £39.50.

The illumination trail is one of many special events lined up this Christmas, including a chance to ride the Santa Special Polar Express on the Spa Valley Railway.
