Lightning victim moved to burns unit

A KENT man who was struck by lightning at a remote Cumbrian beauty spot last week has been transferred to a specialist burns unit.
The 32-year-old tourist, from Maidstone, was airlifted to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle at about 2pm last Wednesday after being struck by the bolt at the remote Castlerigg Stone Circle, near Keswick.
The victim has since been transferred to the burns unit of the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, although his condition is not known. He has not been named.
