There have been long delays on roads in and around Maidstone this morning.
Motorway commuters heading London-bound have been experiencing severe congestion on the M20 between J4 for Leybourne and J7 for Detling.
The queues are also having a knock-on effect for Maidstone-bound traffic on the A249 at Detling.
The problems were made worse by an earlier accident on the road, where three cars collided at around 5.35.am, which has since been cleared.
Three people were treated by paramedics but none of the injuries are believed to be serious.
Kent Highways was also reporting congestion on the A229 Sheals Crescent heading into Maidstone Town Centre, and drivers warned to expect delays.
No accidents have been reported there.
On the trains, signalling problems mean that trains aren't able to run between Strood and Paddock Wood and will be replaced by a bus service.
Disruption is likely to continue until at least 9am.
