KENT Messenger Group senior photographer Paul Dennis captured the scenes when a Dutch-registered lorry went up in flames on the M20 causing massive traffic congestion on Wednesday.
The burning wreckage blocked three lanes of the coastbound carriageway. Thick smoke drifted across the road making conditions hazardous for motorists coming in the other direction.
Police say traffic began building up from around 3.30pm. The fire was not completely out until 8pm. The police and Highways Agency reopened most of the motorway at about 9.30pm.
