Maidstone: take a look at how people in the county town are handling the snow

12:00, 27 February 2018

As forecasters predict a continued snowy downpour throughout today and later in the week people in Maidstone have taken different approaches with some going into battle with the white stuff and others getting out and having fun.

Week Street, normally packed with shoppers, has become a sled track for some children and their parents while others are out for a walk as the snow gently falls.

Council workers have been tackling the snow across the town, shoveling and snow-blowing to clear roads and paths.

Despite schools closures, many shops are still open for business with staff doing their best to clear roads and car parks for customers and deliveries.
