Maidstone caretaker manager Jay Saunders has appointed former Gillingham and Dover midfielder Alan Pouton to his coaching team.
Pouton (pictured) briefly played for Maidstone at the beginning of last season before moving on to Sutton.
Saunders said: "Pouts was on the phone to me as soon as he knew I was in charge at Maidstone and he made it very clear to me that he really wanted to be a part of my management team.
"Alan will help me with putting on sessions at training and in pre-match build up, as well as from the dug out during games.
"He's a lively character and I'm hoping that he will bring a smile back to the dressing room as I think that that is one area where we need to improve things off the field a little."
Meanwhile Saunders has released defenders Reis Boyle and Cedric Abraham while striker Tommy Whitnell is set to quit the club after rejecting Saunders' invitation to stay with the Stones. Danny Hockton has joined Blue Square Bet South Thurrock on loan after being told he did not figure in the club's plans for next season.
