Witnesses claimed an argument broke out between a man and a woman which led to an altercation.

One customer, who was at the event and doesn't want to be named, claimed the woman was grabbed by her clothes and punched.

She said: "Others tried to get him off, myself included, but we were pushed to the floor.

"Police showed up thankfully, but you can't be doing that. It is vile behaviour."

The Bull Inn said a member of staff was also assaulted in the melee.
