Drivers in Maidstone faced chaos this afternoon as Storm Gareth batters the county.
Traffic was initially stopped around junction 7 of the M20 for Detling and the entry slip closed after a van smashed into the central reservation.
The driver was treated at the scene for serious injuries and then flown by air ambulance to a London hospital.
Two lanes of the London-bound carriageway were blocked following the crash, but two have since re-opened.
There have also been reports of flooding in the area as strong winds blow and heavy rain continues to fall.
Drivers are advised to take extra care and allow extra time for their journeys where possible.
It comes after a weather warning was issued for the county earlier today.
A police spokesman said: "We were called at 2.33pm on Tuesday regarding a report that a van on the London-bound carriageway of the M20 had collided with the central reservation between junctions 7 and 6.
"Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a man was treated for serious injuries before being taken by the air ambulance to a London hospital."
South East Coast Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
