Man arrested after pensioner, 81, killed in crash on A249 at Detling Hill

A 33-year-old man has been arrested after a pensioner was killed in a crash.
Officers were called at 12.13pm on Tuesday, November 20, after a silver Citroen C3 overturned on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of the A249.
It is believed to have collided with a lorry that did not stop.
South East Coast Ambulance Service took the two occupants of the car to hospital.
One of the casualties, an 81-year-old woman from Redhill, Surrey, died in hospital on Monday.
Yesterday officers arrested a 33-year-old man in Sittingbourne on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop.
He has since been released pending further enquiries.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward, and have expressed their thanks to all of those who have done so to date.
