A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a van was found blocking the railway line.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the level crossing at East Farleigh, near Maidstone, at 11.50pm yesterday where a vehicle was found abandoned on the tracks.
The man was found with the assistance of BTP London and arrested.
Police say a breath test at the roadside revealed he had 65 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, then 58 when tested in custody.
The legal limit is 35.
The suspect was taken into custody.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Officers attended the scene where they assisted the British Transport Police.”
BTP were also called to Tonbridge last night where a man was arrested for allegedly assaulting railway staff.
Furthermore, officers attended the Canterbury East Railway Station and arrested a woman on suspicion of trespassing.
