Maidstone: Man arrested on suspicion of carrying knife in Ashford Road

A man has been arrested after police received reports of someone carrying a knife in a Maidstone street.
The 32-year-old was detained following a search of an area around Ashford Road at around 9pm yesterday.
The patrols were called to reports of suspicious behaviour, and arrested the man on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place.
While searching him in custody, officers seized further items, which lead to him also being arrested on suspicious of possessing class A drugs, and for going equipped to steal.
The man remains in custody.
