Beckenham man charged after serious assault in Gabriel's Hill, Maidstone

A man has been charged after a serious assault in a town centre which left a man in hospital.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was attacked in Maidstone, and suffered two cuts to his neck.
The incident happened around 3.40am on Sunday (July 28) when the victim was walking down Gabriel’s Hill into Lower Stone Street with a friend.
He was allegedly approached by a man who spoke to him before hitting him on the side of the head. The victim ran from the scene to find he had suffered the wounds.
Around an hour later officers arrested a man in Week Street. The suspect is alleged to have assaulted two police officers and spat in a cell van while in custody.
Stephen Fraser has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, assault on an emergency worker and criminal damage.
The 40-year-old, of Beckenham Road, Beckenham, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday, July 29).
He was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on August 27.
