13:30, 27 October 2017
Officers investigating a burglary at Maidstone Leisure Centre - where a charity box was stolen and fire extinguishers thrown into the pool - have made an arrest.
Around £15 was believed to have been stolen from the container during the break-in last December.
Staff reported substantial criminal damage to monitors, a till and plants inside the Willow Way centre.
It was also alleged fire extinguishers had been thrown into the swimming pool.
Yesterday Anthony Quinnell was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal damage.
The 24-year-old, of Thatch Barn Road in Headcorn, is bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 17.
