Maidstone man charged with rape after woman assaulted near Lockmeadow Leisure Complex

A man has been charged with rape after a woman was attacked outside a leisure complex.
It was reported the victim was sexually assaulted by an unknown man near Lockmeadow in Maidstone on the evening of September 2.
Gytis Lalinauskas, of Tonbridge Road, Maidstone was arrested on Saturday (September 7) and has now been charged with rape, as well as theft of the victim’s laptop.
He was further charged in relation to separate and unrelated offences, of possessing cannabis with intent to supply and possessing an offensive weapon.
The 28-year-old was remanded to a hearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court today (September 9).
A 37-year-old man, previously arrested in connection with the investigation on 4 September, has been released without charge.
