Man dies after fall from telegraph pole

A 40-year-old man died when he fell about 30 feet from a telegraph pole where he had been working.
The man suffered head and neck injuries in the fall which happened off Crumps Lane, Ulcombe, near Maidstone, at about 1pm on Wednesday.
Kent Air Ambulance took him to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford but he died shortly after arrival.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious, and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
A spokesman said: "The HSE is aware of the incident. We have been to the site and an investigation is in progress."
The victim lived at Bracknell, Berkshire. An inquest will be held.
