Man dies in rail line tragedy

KENT police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man struck by a train.
The tragedy happened on tracks near Goddington Lane, Harrietsham, near Maidstone, at around 5.30pm on Monday.
The dead man is believed to be a 75-year-old pensioner from Lenham, near Maidstone, reported missing by his family later the same evening.
Train services between Maidstone and Ashford were suspended for several hours following the incident.
