Witnesses said the driver held his mobile phone out the window of his car and appeared to be recording the children.

People reported they saw a police officer outside the school at around 8.30am this morning.

A spokeswoman for the school confirmed they spoke to pupils about what they saw and she believed the man had only started appearing at the school in the last few days.

Kent Police said there were no reports that the man spoke to or approached any children and confirmed initial inquiries were underway.
