Suspects charged after violent assault outside pub in Earl Street, Maidstone

Four men have been charged after a man was reportedly stamped on the head repeatedly outside a pub.
Police were called to Earl Street in Maidstone at around 12.30am on Sunday, August 5, after the violent assault.
It is alleged the victim was initially headbutted by one of the group before others joined in.
The assault is reported to have continued as the victim lay on the ground, where he was stamped on and struck with a glass bottle. The suspects then left.
The victim was left unconscious and has since been discharged from hospital.
Within the next two days, police made four arrests and the suspects were all charged with causing grievous bodily harm and affray.
On August 6, Jonjo Burke, 39, of Woodcut, Maidstone, James Tidy, 33, of Hazel Road, Erith and Gary King, 32, of Bellring Close, Belvedere all appeared before Sevenoaks magistrates.
They were granted conditional bail until a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on October 2.
James Anderson, 45, of Grainger Walk, Tonbridge was remanded in custody by magistrates.
His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on October 3.
