A man has been taken to hospital under police escort after an incident at a police station.
Two ambulances were called to Maidstone Police Station in Palace Avenue just before 2pm today.
An unmarked police car and a marked police car also attended.
A witness told KentOnline: “There was quite a kerfuffle, with lots of officers and ambulance crew present.
“After a while, a man was carried out on a stretcher and taken off in the ambulance, escorted front and back by the two police cars.”
Police later said only that: “At 1.47pm, officers and paramedics attended a medical incident at the front of Maidstone Police Station.”
Meanwhile, police, ambulance and fire crews were also seen in College Road, on the one-way system just around the corner from the station, at about the same time.
Part of the road was closed off and a tarpaulin screen was put up on the pavement.
Witnesses reported seeing an altercation between a man and a woman.
Police said: “At 1.45pm officers and paramedics attended a report of a medical incident at College Road, Maidstone.”
The two incidents are not thought to be linked.
