Two people have been arrested in connection with attempts to throw banned items into a prison.
Officers stopped a man on County Road, Maidstone, yesterday, after reports he was acting suspiciously and carrying a number of packages outside HMP Maidstone.
He was arrested, as well as the driver of a car that he had been in earlier that day, after officers suspected they were planning to throw the packages over the prison walls.
One of the men was a 26-year-old from Dagenham, and the other was a 31-year-old from Thamesmead.
Both were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to convey prohibited articles into a prison.
They have since been bailed, pending further inquiries, until Friday, July 14.
Forensics teams are analysing the packages found in their possession.
