A carer is on a mission to reunite a family with old pictures which were found in a charity shop biscuit tin.

Karen Winspear, 57, is trying to locate the family after a woman she cares for, who volunteers at Making A Difference to Maidstone (MADM), found the photos wedged in the biscuit tin.

One of the black and white photos show a bride and groom with three men and four women - who look like family members - stood next to them.

While the second photo is a head shot of a young man, who Ms Winspear believes was in the army or Navy.

The Aylesford carer said: "If it was my family I'd want to have the photos back, which is why we're trying to track them down.

"It's our last shot really as I have a family and work and just don't have the time to try and track them down.

"My client has no access to the Internet, so I offered to put the photos on Facebook to see if they could be reunited with their owners, the photos were shared through various groups but no one came forward.

"I came across the photos in my drawer again while having a tidy up at the weekend so decided to give them one last chance to be returned to their owners

"One woman did comment to say the picture was the spitting image of her brother and she was going to ask round her family."

Ms Winspear thinks the pictures come from anywhere between the 1920s and 1940s.

She added: "If there's no joy this time then they'll just go back in the draw and will probably stay there forever.

"It's a bit of family history so we want to get them back into the right hands.

"Hopefully this can help reunite the family with the pictures. It would be amazing if they could be returned to their rightful owner."
