A mother who fought for answers after her teenage son was found dead in the River Medway has passed away.
Andrea Gulsen, from Maidstone died in her home in Tonbridge Road on February 5.
The 42-year-old originally from Kołobrzeg in Poland lost her son Alan Gulsen in 2018 when his body was found in the River Medway near Asda Living.
Mr Gulsen, who was only 19, had been living at Pelican Court in Wateringbury but had not been seen since March 17 when he was reported missing. His body was found around three weeks later.
At the time Ms Gulsen believed her son may have been murdered, but police found no evidence of third party involvement.
With next month marking the third anniversary of her son's disappearance, an inquest at County Hall in Maidstone heard Ms Gulsen was found hanged at her home.
To help the family with the devastating loss, a fundraiser has been set up in Andrea's memory to help her loved ones who live abroad with funeral costs.
So far, more than £2,200 has been raised which the family say is enough to give the loving mother the send off she deserves.
The Go Fund Me page set up by a family friend said: "As some of you may know today we lost Andrea Gulsen.
"Her family lives abroad and are in need of some funds to cover cremation, funeral arrangements as well as taking Andrea’s ashes back to Poland.
"Every penny counts, this is the least we can do for them in this heartbreaking time."
A full inquest has been scheduled to take place at the Archbishops Palace in Maidstone on May 4.
