Mothercare has announced it is to close one of its Kent stores.
Workers have faced months of uncertainty after the struggling firm announced it was to close at least 60 stores nationwide in July. Maidstone will be one of them.
No closing date has been set for the Week Street store, however a closing down sale will start tomorrow.
All stock is being reduced to clear.
A spokesperson said: “This is a great opportunity for shoppers to get some amazing bargains on last minute Christmas gifts and maternity, baby and toddler essentials. Our most popular ranges will sell out quickly so we encourage all customers to come into the store as soon as possible to avoid disappointment."
Stores in Bluewater and Canterbury will remain open.
Mothercare expects 60 of its 137 stores will be closed by June 2019.
