Motorcycle accident causing delays in Maidstone

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after colliding with a police car in Maidstone.
Police have closed roads near Maidstone bridge as they clear the scene, following the crash at around 5.30pm.
The northbound road next to High Street has been closed as well as traffic crossing the bridge toward Fairmeadow.
A spokesperson from Kent Police said: "At about 5.30pm a collision involving a motorcycle and a police car took place in Broadway near to the junction with Fairmeadow in Maidstone.
"The South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene, the motorcyclist had reported injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The road has been closed while enquiries continue and recovery work is ongoing."
One ambulance is at the scene as well as at least four police cars.
