MAIDSTONE and Weald Tory MP Ann Widdecombe has lost her two pet cats within two weeks. Carruthers and Pugwash had lived with her at her home at Boughton Monchelsea for about two years.
The MP had obtained the animals from the Cats Protection League. Carruthers had to be put down after suffering from kidney failure. Pugwash died fter undergoing acute renal failure.
Miss Widdecombe said: "As far as Carruthers had been concerned, it was very sad but we had been expecting it. But Pugwash's death was a huge shock. One day he was perfectly all right and the next he was dead."
