Chatham and Aylesford MP Tracey Crouch sparks security scare at House of Commons with can of spider spray

A Kent MP has been left red-faced after a can of spider spray sparked a security alert at Parliament today.
Workers in the House of Commons post room called security this morning when a package addressed to Tracey Crouch, the Conservative MP for Chatham and Aylesford, appeared to be leaking.
Fearful of what might be inside, guards carefully unwrapped the item... to find a can of spider spray.
Miss Crouch, who is not a fan of the eight-legged creatures, had ordered the spray to blitz spiders at her Aylesford home.
She said: "I had ordered the stuff from Amazon as my house in Aylesford is full of spiders.
"It's an old house and they are just everywhere. They can be huge!
"I was a bit embarrassed to say the least when my London staff rang to ask if I had ordered spider spray.
"They said security had called because they had found a can of it and were worried. It was leaking and they didn't know what it was.
"I've promised to take a tin of sweets to security next week."
