Firefighters in Coombe Road, Maidstone after chip pan catches fire

Firefighters have descended on a home after a chip pan caught fire.
Crews were called out to Coombe Road, Maidstone just after 10.30am today after a neighbour saw smoke through the window.
No one was inside the property, but a smoke alarm was sounding.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The fire is believed to have started after the hob was accidentally turned on while there was a a chip pan on it, before the occupant left the house."
Two fire engines were called to the scene a fire blanket extinguished the flames.
There were no reported injuries and KFRS left the scene just before 11am.
