Another new club is set to open in Maidstone dragging the town further out of a two-year slump in its nightlife.

Fever & Boutique will welcome punters from Friday, March 31, when it launches at the former Beluga Bar building, which is also home to the recently opened Bierkeller.

Both venues will exist as separate entities but will be run by the same company, Fever Bars, which runs 30 other bars and clubs across the county.

Duncan Squires, marketing manager, said: “Bierkeller has got its own character and offers something completely different in the town whereas Fever & Boutique is more of a run of the mill club.

“It’ll be fun and entertaining and will give clubbers something consistent. They’ll always know what they’re going to get.”

The 1,150-capacity popular Bank Street club closed in 2015 leading to a decline in Maidstone’s night life, with neighbouring Banks Bar calling it a day shortly after and Barker Road’s Wonderland shutting later that year. Last year a lease for the three-storey building was up for grabs priced at £110,000.

The latest addition to the town will be open from 10pm to 4am Wednesday to Saturday and will have two rooms, complete with disco balls and a multicoloured dance floor. Fever will play the best chart and party tunes, while Boutique will blast out r&b, house and dance anthems.

There will also be a ‘tiki terrace’ at the back of the venue, where cocktails will be served.

Fever & Boutique is the third venue to move to the town in the past month. In addition to Bierkeller, Zee Bar is set to open in the Chicago Rock Cafe building.

The High Street eyesore will undergo a much-needed facelift before the club, which already operates in Tunbridge Wells, opens by the end of April.

Mr Squires is confident the new club will be an instant hit, adding: “Everything is happening in Maidstone at the moment, it’s very exciting.”
