With Kent still recovering from the aftermath of Storm Bella, a second weather warning for snow and ice has been put in place for most of the county.

The Met Office has issued the yellow warning saying there is a small chance of disruption from icy conditions from 10am on Wednesday until 6am on Thursday.

A previous warning was issued for snow and ice throughout today but this has now expired.

While the majority of the stormy weather has now passed, pictures from today show towns are still suffering from the downpours as three flood warnings, and nine flood alerts remain in place.

The village of Yalding once again flooded when the River Beult and its tributaries burst affecting the usual areas and floodplains between Teapot Island and the Lees.

In Maidstone, the council urged residents to avoid driving through flood water and to take care when out and about.

Today a footpath leading from Tovil to the town centre was submerged with some pedestrians reporting the water levels reaching waist height.

The Environment Agency expects levels of the River Medway and the River Beult to begin falling overnight and will update information at 9am on Tuesday.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said its crews went to several flood-related incidents in Faversham, Tonbridge, Canterbury and Ashford over the Christmas period.

They included flooded properties, where pumps have been needed to clear water.

Another flood warning for the Stour remains in place tonight between Grove Ferry and Plucks Gutter near Sarre.

Flooding of property, roads and low lying land is possible between 11pm this evening and 2:30am tomorrow.

When the snow and ice warning comes into force on Wednesday, the Met Office says there is a chance bus and train services could be disrupted.

There is also an increased risk of injury from slips and falls on icy surfaces and a small chance roads could be closed.
