The New Year brought new additions to couples in west Kent
12:48, 02 January 2015
There were no fireworks but still plenty of celebrations for the New Year as couples welcomed new additions into the world.
The delivery suite at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury dealt with nine mums over the day, the first giving birth at just before 1am, and the last at 9.51pm.
There was a double celebration for one couple. Corinne Richard and Andy Barette had twin girls Clara and Lucie, weighing in at 5.3lbs and 5.9lbs and being born two minutes apart at just before 5am.
Baby Harrison O’Gorman arrived at 6.04am and weighed in at 6.4lbs.
One couple were able to relax more than others on New Year’s Day at the unit, after their baby Kacper was born at 11.35pm on the night before, to parents Piotv and Elzbieta Orszulak, who live in Maidstone.
There were no babies born at the Maidstone birthing centre.
