An Olympic gold-medallist from Kent has announced she’s pregnant with her third child.
Lizzy Yarnold, who was born in Sevenoaks and now lives in West Kingsdown, announced the news on her Instagram on Friday.
The multiple skeleton champion wrote her name into the history books when she claimed her second Winter Olympic gold medal in the skeleton in Pyeongchang in 2018.
She became the first British athlete to retain a title, having won the same event in Sochi in 2014.
The 35-year-old, who attended Maidstone Grammar School for Girls and was head girl, retired in 2018 and has since had two daughters.
The athlete was awarded an OBE in 2018 after previously being appointed an MBE after her first Olympic triumph in 2014.
Revealing the news of her latest pregnancy, she wrote on the social media platform “2024 is going to be a busy one 🐣🥂” alongside a photo and video showing off her baby bump.
