A farming attraction has stepped in to rehome some animals from a fellow popular tourist venue which has closed after 25 years in the county.
Kent Life in Lock Lane, Sandling, is to take on three of the livestock from Farming World in Faversham, which shut at the beginning of the month, after management were given notice to leave by landowners.
The Sandling site is to take in a Shetland pony and two ‘“micro’” pigs.
The trio will be the first of their breeds to join the Maidstone site’s family of animals, which includes rescued donkeys, goats and horses.
General manager Emily Hirons said: “They are both friendly breeds and should fit in really well.
“We offered to take some animals as we had space on our land. They will each have their own paddock to go to.”
Kent Life has a number of other rehomed animals, including goats from the Buttercups Goat Sanctuary in Boughton Monchelsea and donkey Ellie, who came from an animal donkey sanctuary.
