Opportunities await at Jobfair

00:00, 27 September 2002

REPRESENTATIVES from more than 70 businesses, public services, training organisations and employment agencies are taking part in a careers, training and job fair in a Maidstone shopping centre.

The Town Centre Jobfair, organised by the Maidstone Town Centre Management Initiative, begins on Thursday (September 26) at the Chequers Shopping Centre.

Employers from the armed forces, public services, retail and banking, representatives from training organisations such as Mid Kent College and Pitmans Training and employment agencies such as Earl Street Employment Services are among the exhibitors.

Town centre manager Bill Moss said: "We are delighted to be holding such a high profile job fair right in the heart of the town centre. We would encourage everybody who is either looking for a new job or just looking to change job to attend."

The event continues on Friday, and Saturday, from 9am to 5.30pm on all three floors of the shopping centre.
