Pavarotti to perform in Kent
00:00, 12 March 2004
OPERA legend Luciano Pavarotti will perform a one-off UK concert in Kent this summer. The famous tenor will appear at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone, on Saturday, July 17.
He will perform classical favourites with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Leone Magiera, and with renowned soprano Carmela Remigio.
The announcement by promoters, Clear Channel, follows rumours of the singer’s full retirement.
Pavarotti is one of the most popular artists in the history of the classical recording industry. He rose to world-wide fame with his rendition of the aria Nessun Dorma during the 1990 World Cup.
Tickets for the concert at the castle, where the gates will open at 6pm, are priced between £45 and £85.
They can be booked on 08704 000688 or by logging on to www.cclive.co.uk/pavarotti.
