Peaches Geldof heroin dealer avoids prosecution as police close case

08:00, 03 July 2015

Police have closed the investigation to find the dealer who supplied the deadly heroin dose to Peaches Geldof.

Around 15 months after the probe was launched, police say they have "exhausted all lines of enquiry".

It comes exactly a year after Coroner Roger Hatch ruled the 25-year-old mother-of-two died of a heroin overdose at her house in Wrotham.

The TV presenter and model was discovered on April 7 last year, together with a stash of 80 syringes and £500 of heroin.

In a tragic echo of her mother Paula Yates' accidental overdose death 14 years earlier, Peaches was discovered dead by her husband Tom Cohen in a bedroom at their home in Fairseat Lane.

At her inquest police announced an investigation had been launched to find the heroin dealer who supplied the fatal dose.

But now police have revealed the trail has gone cold.

Detective Superintendent Paul Fotheringham said: "Our investigation into the supply of drugs to Peaches Geldof-Cohen has exhausted all lines of enquiry and has now concluded.

"If further information or witnesses come forward we will review the case, but I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Peaches' family who have supported our enquiries during what has been a difficult time."
