Crash involving a lorry and a pedestrian on Loose Road, Maidstone

A pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a lorry this afternoon.

The incident happened on Loose Road, Maidstone.

South East Coast Ambulance service confirmed it was called at 2.40pm.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and has been treated and airlifted to King's College Hospital in London.

Kent Police have confirmed they are at the scene, at the junction of Loose Road and Heather Drive.

Loose Road is closed to traffic between Sheals Crescent and Park Way and drivers are advised to find alternative routes.

Armed police are also currently pointing a guns at a block of flats in Massey Close, near Armstrong Road.
